1and1.com is having issues with list server

On 11/21 I sent an email to a list serviced by 1and1.com server.

Something broke in the server and the message started being re-sent every 40 minutes, on average.
I contacted 1and1 help desk and they said that they would research and fix the issue. Of course, they said that they would keep me posted on the progress.

First they said:

“The issue has been resolved. You can try sending emails and if you recieve the same errors please send us a screen shot to further check on the fault.”

Then they said:

“Please be informed that our administrators is still doing a work around for your email issue. We will be sending you an email as soon as we received an update from them.”

Then they said:

“We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience that this technical glitch has brought you. This is a bug on the system that is already known and reported to our developers. At the moment, we do not have an estimated time frame for the fix however rest assured that we are currently working on a resolution. Once we have the fix, it will be implemented to all affected customers. To ensure that your case will be taken cared of, I will be adding the details of your case to the list of affected customers. We understand that you might be anxious to have this resolved as soon as possible so thank you so much for your patience while we work on the resolution.”

On 11/22 I called them several times. They said that there was an issue with back-end server and that the developers are trying to fix it. They asked me to send some test messages, using Outlook and webmail to the problem can be re-created. I sent four test messages. These message, plus the original one, keep being re-sent.

On 11/25 they said:

“We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience upon checking here it shows that this is a bug on the system that is already known and reported to our developers. At the moment, we do not have an estimated time frame for the fix however rest assured that we are currently working on a resolution. Once we have the fix, it will be implemented to all affected customers. To ensure that your case will be taken cared of, I will be adding the details of your case to the list of affected customers. We understand that you might be anxious to have this resolved as soon as possible so thank you so much for your patience while we work on the resolution.”

At this moment (11/26), I have 423 excess messages in my inbox, and I keep receiving a few of them every hour.

This is ridiculous! 1and1 admins are grossly incompetent – how is it possible that the problem is NOT fixed in five days?

The problem seems to be fixed in the afternoon, Wednesday 11/16. While I communicated to at least three support guys, they promised me that they would keep me posted. Of course, nobody from 1and1 contacted me that I can use mailing list again.
